The Paroli gambling system is a positive progression system, based on a similar idea to that of compound interest - it adds to winnings rather than taking from them. It doesn't seek to chase losses and only increases bets after a win.
The Paroli differs from many other gambling systems in that it isn't fixed. The gambler has to decide in advance the size of the betting unit and also how many bets are to be made before removing any winnings i.e. the maximum stake to be risked.
If you want to see a step-by-step video tutorial on the Paroli system, check out our Youtube video below.
Used extensively in Roulette, the most popular form of the Paroli system is to bet three times and to double the stake after each win. If any bet loses, or all 3 bets win, the sequence restarts.
A winning series of 3 wins in a row would result in the following bets:
1, 2, 4, 1
Remember that the numbers represent betting units so if, for example, you're betting in £10 units, your bets are
£10, £20, £40, £10
The table below shows how the Paroli fared in our systems tests.

When conditions favour consecutive winning results, the paroli system fares very well. It could be said that any gambling system will fare well in a winning streak, but three consecutive wins hardly constitutes a streak.
Like the 1-3-2-6 and 1-3-2-4, the Paroli system is not at its best when results are alternating - returning a loss even in an 'overall win' situation. But in the 'bad loss' test, it results in only a mild loss - much less than, say, the Martingale.
