Optimal Baccarat player strategy
Playing Betfair's Zero Lounge Baccarat is no different to playing
standard Baccarat - your best bet is still the Banker bet. But with
the vigorish (commission) lowered to 2.75% instead of the
normal 5%, the Banker bet is now evens chance.

Zero commission

Well, almost! Betfair state quite clearly that the payout is 100%
down to one decimal place. 2.75% is two decimal places.
Rounded up to 1 decimal place the vigorish is actually 2.8%.

This isn't a massive amount of commission, but it's enough to keep the house edge in the casino's favour - only slightly, but in the long run (the casino's best friend!) it mounts up.
How to beat Zero Lounge Baccarat

The table below shows the amount of commission paid for various bets. It also shows the amount you should have paid without rounding - and the difference between the two.

What you can see is that 4 unit bets incur no loss through rounding, as 4 x 2.75 = 11 (ie a whole number).

This, then, gives us the basis for our Zero Lounge Baccarat system.
The system to beat Zero Lounge Baccarat

As with standard Baccarat, we recommend you use the 1-3-2-4 system. Although the reduced commission means that the 1-3-2-6 system now works, we still feel that the 'smoothing' factor in the 1-3-2-4 (ie not risking all your winnings on the final bet) gives you your best chance of winning overall.

Allowing for the 4 unit minimum as described above, your sequence of winning bets is now:

  4
12
  8
16

Remember, If you win all four bets, you go back to the start. If you lose any bet, you also go back to the start. So long as you're winning, you progress through this sequence.

Entering the bets

It can be a bit of a pain to enter these bets (eg clicking £5 three times and £1 once to make up the £16) and you may be tempted to round the bets up to £5 units, but remember: the zero house edge is only available to players with an 'optimal player strategy'.

In this case, that means a little extra clicking, but stick with it - it's worth it in the long run!
