With the vigorish (commission) lowered to 2.75% instead of the normal 5%, in Zero Lounge Baccarat the Banker bet is now Evens chance.

Well, almost! Betfair state quite clearly that the payout is 100% down to one decimal place. 2.75% is two decimal places. Rounded up to 1 decimal place the vigorish is actually 2.8%.

This isn't a massive amount of commission, but it's enough to keep the house edge in the casino's favour - only slightly, but in the long run it mounts up.

Beating Zero Lounge Baccarat comes down to understanding how to beat those percentage points. The table below shows the amount of commission paid for various betting units. It also shows the amount you would pay with and without rounding - and the difference between the two.

What you can see is that 4 unit bets incur no loss through rounding, as 4 x 2.75 = 11 (ie a whole number).

The system to use against Zero Lounge Baccarat is the 1-3-2-4 system. Of all the systems we tested it was one of only 3 (along with the Paroli and 1-3-2-6) that showed an overall profit on all six of our tests, but for the reasons we discuss in our summary, it's the most stable and consistent.

In the 1-3-2-4 gambling system, the sequence of winning bets is simply

1, 3, 2, 4.

£4, £12, £8, £16.

It can be a bit of a pain to enter these bets (eg clicking £5 three times and £1 once to make up the £16) and you may be tempted to round the bets up to £5 units, but remember: the zero house edge is only available to players with an 'optimal player strategy'.

Win - even when you lose!

You win big with the 1-3-2-4 when all four bets come up (a 1 in 16 chance)

But the great thing about the 1-3-2-4 is that as long as you win the first two bets (1 in 4), you're guaranteed to win, even if the third bet loses!

If your first bet loses, your loss is 1 unit. If the second loses, your loss is 2 units (you'll have bet 4, won 2)

This is the 'danger point', but once you're past it, you literally can't lose. Even if the third bet loses, you make a profit of 2 units, because you'll be 4 units up after bet 2!

If the third and fourth win, your overall profit is 10 units.

But even if the fourth bet loses, you still come out with a profit of 2 units.
