WWE Battleground

It’s WWE Battleground tonight and the latest pay per view should see some stability brought to the industry.

John Cena is the reigning WWE World Heavyweight champion and it seems pretty obvious that the WWE are wanting him to be headlining Summer Slam in a few weeks. That will be the biggest blockbuster of the Summer as Cena takes on Brock Lesnar, the conqueror of The Undertaker’s undefeated streak at Wrestlemania. That being said, there is no value in backing Cena tonight to win the Fatal Fourway, but he will win.

So on to the other matches. First up  the Battle Royal for the vacated Intercontinental title. An unfortunate injury to the incumbent titleholder, the Great Britain Bad News Barrett, has led us to this point. There are numerous valid contenders for this title including Sheamus, Dolph Ziggler and Ryback. But as I stated a few weeks ago there is still some momentum behind the King of Swing –  Cesaro and he will be the choice to take out the Intercontinental Title.

Hopefully the time is up for The Usos. Boy, I really can’t stand these two, they just annoy the hell out of me. So I’m very pleased to see that The Wyatts are facing them again tonight. This should be pay back and I’ll be really disappointed if  The Wyatts are beaten.

Dean Ambrose and Seth Rollins used to be key members of The Shield until Rollins joined up with The Authority and back-stabbed his 2 closest friends. With a Money in the Bank contract already secured, Rollins is on the up. Defeat for the latest Authority recruit really isn’t an option and, unless there is interference, Rollins should gain the victory over Ambrose.

I do really like Paige and here introduction into the Divas division has stirred things up immeasurably and suddenly, this division has become a must see. She is destined to be a great Diva but at the moment she is still in the shadow of AJ Lee. AJ is one of the best technical Divas, which is no surprise as she is engaged to CM Punk, and Paige will do well to wrestle the title away at this minute. I think further down the line, Paige will have a long run as the divas champion, but that won’t start tonight.
